Too late to make the easy money. That fruit has been plucked. One emergency rate cut from the fed would wipe out a ton of short positions in a whipsaw.

Best way is to play the rebound and now is probably a bit early but better early then late in this game if you average into a basket of financials and REITS over the next 6-12 months you'll be certain to hit some bottoms. Collect the divs and bide your time.

If you own a house, sell it now before it falls in price another 10-25% over the next 10-18 months.

The problem as I see it is that A. Banks/Mortgage Companies made loans to people that were high risk and B. (Equally as important as A.) People buying 2nd homes for profit ran the prices up. (greed factor).

I don't see what you have to worry about? Unless you need to sell. Are you coming due on a reset with an ARM?

When did you buy? Florida is getting whacked in value but it shouldn't affect you now unless you need to sell in the near future, 1-3 years.

real estate bear markets usually take 10 to 15 years to clear up.
